Itineraries: Our pilgrimage itineraries were developed with spiritual growth and uniqueness in mind as their primary goals. They combine visits to man-made sacred sites such as ashrams, monasteries, and temples, as well as to natural sacred sites, such as holy mountains and rivers, in order to appeal to many types of seekers. You may find that some of the locations cited do not figure prominently in any guidebooks, and several may not even be mentioned. Rest assured that this means you will be treated to a truly off-the-beaten path, non-commercial experience that few tours or other travelers have encountered! You will be given ample free time for personal or group meditation and yoga practice, your own daily spiritual practice, or to roam and take phtos on your own. Our pilgrimages are never hurried - we go slowly, slowly.

Value: At Spirit Travel, we believe in providing you the highest quality tours at affordable prices. You will notice that unlike other tours with the same or higher costs, our tours are all-inclusive, with hotel accommodations and domestic air, coach and rail transportation, and most meals included. We also go further than any other tour company in providing you with generous extras, such as a set of classical Indian clothing (sarees for women, dhotis and shawls for men) and a meditation mala as our gifts to you.

Small Groups: At Spirit Travel, group size is typically limited to 5-10 travelers, which allows us to be less obtrusive and more observant of natural behavior than larger groups. Pricing is offered for five people as a minimum, and if the minimum is not met, a supplement can be arranged to guarantee departures. Note that this also means that our trips fill quickly, and it is advisable to book at least two months in advance.

Social, Cultural and Environmental Ethics: Spirit Travel makes offerings and donations to holy men (sadhus), the poor and handicapped encountered en route. We will teach our guests how to show respect for local cultures, manners and traditions, so that Spirit Travel groups can continue to be known for their cultural sensitivity in these sacred places. We encourage and utilize vendors who share in our concerns for the environment. You can feel good about the social, cultural and environmental ethics of the company with whom you are traveling.

Guides and Staff: Elizabeth Medgyesy is your skilled, capable and nurturing primary tour guide. While she is traveling abroad, Elizabeth is assisted by Melda deSalvo. Expert Discourses: A very unique and original feature of Spirit Travel's tours are special discourses from scholars in various fields such as pranic healing, Ayurvedic medicine, Indology and spirituality, Bhagavad Gita, Tantra, gemology, astrology, Tibetan medicine, Buddhism, acupressure, magnet, color and gem therapy, Jainology, Vipassana meditation, hypnotherapy, Gandhian philosophy, homeo-teletherapy, Reiki, Yoga and Rudraksha.
